Coleman (Obelisk x Cabochon) is back from basic training. He knows how to lunge, he has been backed and is pretty good at the walk and trot under saddle and just getting his balance at the canter. He had 6 weeks and he is now back home in the pasture to mature mentally and physically. It was a really good first outing for him and he grew while he was away as well. He is just over 16hh now at 3 yrs old (March 30th).
We plan to let him be a kid for the summer and put another 6 weeks or so on him in the fall. He is still for sale in the meantime however. I have some footage of him that I will upload to Youtube in the near future (still in the camera).
He is a gorgeous fancy youngster, on the sensitive side and very kind.
Dariska (Rhodium x Poska) had a rough winter. She developed a bacterial infection that was out of control. Over 7 weeks of antibiotics, 3 weeks at the vet clinic and 2 weeks at a facility that had a hyperbaric chamber where she went in for 2 hrs per day. It was the chamber that turned things around and she has been back home for a month now and is doing really well. Starting to gain weight, happy to be going out to the field every day with the green grass coming.
Eriska (Sorprano x Poska) has landed in her new home in Michigan and Jodie and family love her to bits. She is quite a girl and has settled in already and has a best buddy in an older mare of Jodie's. She hasn't met her brother Zigfield yet as he is boarded at an indoor facility.
Cashew (Johnson x Lady W) is still growing and well over 16.3 now at almost 3 yrs old. She is a big mare and showing lots of promise. I will wait to see her under saddle, but will wait till later this summer to give her more time to mature as well.
There will be a keuring in Alberta in September hosted by Shauna Cook at Carousel Ridge in Sherwood Park. Stay tuned for the date.
